I ventured into the world of Urban Decay eyeshadows relatively recently which, I admit, is a crime for an eyeshadow lover as I am as their eyeshadows are recognised as some of the best on the market. Faced with an extensive choice of shades and finishes in their London Covent Garden store I had a really difficult job of choosing just a few. They all swatched beautifully – I haven’t noticed any issues with pigmentation and they all felt very soft and velvety. Impressive, considering there must be over sixty shades in Urban Decay’s eyeshadow collection.
At the end I went for Roach, Rockstar and Virgin eyeshadows as I knew those are the shades I would use a lot.

I’ve been playing with Chanel Rouge Noir Illusion d’Ombre, the newest addition to my eyeshadow collection, this morning to see how it compares to other burgundy and plummy shades I own. I ofter go crazy about a product just to realise I already own something very similar when I get home. I’ve pulled out Nars Subra Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow, Burberry Mulberry Sheer Eyeshadow and Urban Decay Roach Eyeshadow to see how they compare.

Chanel Rose Fusion #757 nail polish is another one of the items from Rouge Noir Absolument Holiday 2015 Collection. This one I didn’t plan on purchasing, but it won me over with it’s perfect combination of pastel hues and stunning micro shimmer – I never manage to resist Chanel’s shimmer!

Terrana is one of the four nail polishes released in Chanel’s Summer 2015 collection. It’s the only one with shimmer and slightly metallic finish and it immediately caught my eye. I’m not crazy about metallics, but there is something about this shade that makes it look so sophisticated and stylish on the nails.

Burberry Steel Grey is a different take on grey nail polishes. It’s a mid-toned grey that leans slightly green, with tiny gold shimmer. The shimmer is not very obvious on the nails, it’s most visible in the sun, but it does give this shade a complexity and warmth that is unusual for this kind of colour.

Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Rose Initial #72 is a bright, warm, medium pink with yellow undertones. On me the shade looks similar to MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush, but the finish of Rose Initial is more subtle. It has Chanel’s signature micro glitter, just about the right amount not to be over the top but to lift the shade so it doesn’t look flat on the skin.

It’s about time I write a review about this beauty. This D&G illuminator was a love at first sight. Even though it was one of my typical impulse buys, months after the purchase I’m still very happy with it.

#9 Fuchsia Intemporel is a shade from the YSL permanent range of nail polishes. It’s a mid-tone fuchsia with strong red undertone. In my nail polish collection, this one has a special place as the most noticed and complimented one.

The best thing about summer makeup is getting away with using just a few products to create a flawless look. Lately my daily makeup has been very simple as my skin feels and looks better when it’s warmer outside than during the winter. It doesn’t need as much coverage and colour to make it look healthy.

Pearl Grey is a shade from Burberry’s permanent eyeshadow range. It’s a medium toned grey with a tint of blue. As the name suggests, it has a subtle pearl finish and a sheer texture.
