I loved so many collections released in 2015 and so many products that I got to try for the first time last year.
One of my best purchases in 2015 is without doubt Giorgio Armani Sun Fabric Powder Bronzer in shade #100. It is THE bronzer for my complexion. It’s similar in shade to Nars Laguna and MAC Sun Dipped but less grey and with different finish. I’ll dare to say this bronzer makes my face look photoshopped! The illuminating powder gives the impression of perfectly polished skin. My HG among bronzers.

I ventured into the world of Urban Decay eyeshadows relatively recently which, I admit, is a crime for an eyeshadow lover as I am as their eyeshadows are recognised as some of the best on the market. Faced with an extensive choice of shades and finishes in their London Covent Garden store I had a really difficult job of choosing just a few. They all swatched beautifully – I haven’t noticed any issues with pigmentation and they all felt very soft and velvety. Impressive, considering there must be over sixty shades in Urban Decay’s eyeshadow collection.
At the end I went for Roach, Rockstar and Virgin eyeshadows as I knew those are the shades I would use a lot.

I’ve been playing with Chanel Rouge Noir Illusion d’Ombre, the newest addition to my eyeshadow collection, this morning to see how it compares to other burgundy and plummy shades I own. I ofter go crazy about a product just to realise I already own something very similar when I get home. I’ve pulled out Nars Subra Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow, Burberry Mulberry Sheer Eyeshadow and Urban Decay Roach Eyeshadow to see how they compare.

Named after Chanel’s cult nail polish Rouge Noir, Chanel’s highly anticipated 2015 Holiday Collection is full of gems that any makeup lover would find hard to resist. As a fan of Illusion d’Ombre eyeshadows there was no doubt that I would rush to pick up one of the Rouge Noir cream eyeshadows first.

Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Rose Initial #72 is a bright, warm, medium pink with yellow undertones. On me the shade looks similar to MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush, but the finish of Rose Initial is more subtle. It has Chanel’s signature micro glitter, just about the right amount not to be over the top but to lift the shade so it doesn’t look flat on the skin.

Bar #056 is an eyeshadow palette from Dior’s permanent range, realised in Fall 2014. It won me over after testing it in store where every shade swatched creamy soft and the colour combinations looked perfect for a smokey eye look. However, after I bought it and have been using it for a while this palette proved to be a hit and miss for me.

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadows are my all time favourite single eyeshadows. They simply tick all the boxes when it comes to the formula, staying power, shades and finishes. Burberry recently reformulated their mono eyeshadow range, they are now called Eye Colour Wet & Dry, and I admit – I’m a bit scared to try them as I absolutely love the old ones.
