Fantascene, “an exquisite fantasy played to extremes with photographer Steven Klein”, is a Limited Edition Holiday 2015 collection brought to us by Nars in collaboration with a fantastic photographer Steven Klein.
The whole collection is a winner – from red and nude lip sets, Dead of Summer Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette that includes 3 new shades out of 4 included in the palette, lip glosses, nail polishes, mono eyeshadows to the famous cheek palettes. This is the holiday collection you really need to check out.
My pick this time was One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette. It contains Paloma contour duo which was on my wish list for a while and two new blush shades which I couldn’t resist. I also needed a palette for traveling and this one covers all my needs when it comes to contour, bronzer and blusher.
One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette contains Paloma contouring duo, Laguna bronzer, Robotic blush (new), Blasphemy blush (new), Luster and Dolce Vita blushes.
Paloma duo is a combination of two matte shades for highlight and contour. They have velvety texture and apply beautifully on the face. Although without any shimmer, the lighter shade does a great job in highlighting. The darker shade has rosy undertones which compliments my neutral-to-cool toned skin nicely. I’m loving this duo, it’s perfect for everyday contour.
Laguna, a cult Nars bronzer, is a golden shade with shimmer and grey undertones. It’s often included in their limited edition palettes even though I doubt there is a Nars lover or a beauty addict out there that doesn’t already own one. I wish Nars would release a new shade, or at least mix it up and include Casino in some of the sets.
In the bottom row of the palette there are four blushes:
Robotic blush (new) is pink with blue undertones and silver micro-shimmer.
Blasphemy (new) is a neutral, soft pink with silver micro-shimmer.
Luster is warm, golden apricot with gold micro-shimmer. It’s the softest of all blushes, silky and pigmented.
Dolce Vita looks as a dusty rose in the pan but it’s more of a berry colour when applied to the skin.
Overall I really like the combination of blushes, with both cool and warm shades that would work on most complexions.
This palette is now available in SpaceNK. But as it is a limited edition and a great value for money at only £49 for a contour duo, bronzer and 4 blushes I can see it being sold out fast.
