Rituals is one of those brands you just can’t resist once you’re near their store. I love their shops – the oriental design, the scent, the sink where you can try all the goodies… It’s a shopping haven for skin care. This time around I picked up products from the Tao Collection.
From rituals.com: The Ritual of Tao – Tao is an ancient Chinese philosophy centred on achieving the perfect harmony between Yin and Yang. Focusing on nourishing your Yin energy, our Tao collection helps you to find inner peace and tranquility in your busy life.
White lotus, which represents spiritual perfection and total purity, gives this range a gentle fragrance. It is sweet and warming, and it stays close to the skin. Nourishing properties come from yi yi ren, chinese herb also known as coix seeds or Job’s tears.
The first product I picked up was Mei Dao body cream (£17/200ml). The cream is easy to apply and sinks into the skin fast. I’ve been using it for the past 10 days and I’m happy to report that my dry skin loves it! It’s rich, even though the texture is not heavy and it is hydrating.

The next product I chose was Wai Wang body scrub (£19.50/325ml). It has a similar texture to the Clinique body scrub that I reviewed here. It’s a creamy base with chinese bamboo micro beads. I find these type of scrubs very easy to use, not messy, and cost effective as you don’t need much of a product for a single use. Due to the micro beads it is very thorough and it leaves skin refreshed and soft.

T’ai Chi foaming shower gel (£8.50/200ml) popped into the bag instead of my usual choice – Rituals shower oils. I haven’t tried Rituals foaming gels before, and although I love their oils, I wanted to give these a try. And I don’t regret it, it is a lovely, luxurious shower foam. As all the above, it’s such a pleasure to use. The scent of Tao collection won me over, it’s perfect for this time of the year.
