The sun woke me up this morning and inspired me to pick up one of the neglected coral nail polish shades from my stash.
Tom Ford #03 Coral Beach is a peachy coral. It has just enough pink in it not to look too orangey. Depending on the light it leans more warm (in the sun) or neutral (in the shade). The colour is beautiful, soft and sophisticated and the lasting power is impressive. But, for the price, the formula has to be better. It’s a semi-jelly finish, I had to apply 3 coats for full coverage and a top coat to even it out.
The closest shades I have in my collection are Illamasqua Lament and Chanel Distraction. Lament is a true cream, it is brighter and more pink than Coral Beach. Distraction is darker, muted, with a slightly red undertone and it has very fine micro-shimmer.
Overall, Coral Beach is a beautiful shade, but I wish the formula was easier to apply. It retails for £26/12ml.
Do you own any of the Tom Ford nail polishes? Are there any shades you would recommend?
