Nars Sheer Glow Foundation & Radiant Creamy Concealer

Nars Sheer Glow foundation & Radiant Creamy Concealer

I’ve been dreading the thought of this review for a while – it’s never fun to write a negative review. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything positive to say about these two products from Nars, so I’ll keep it short.

After a few days of testing a Nars Sheer Glow Liquid Foundation in Mont Blanc shade, I was very tempted to go back to SpaceNK and return it. I’m not even sure if this is possible to do in the UK, but this foundation performed so badly on me that I could not believe it is being sold as a foundation for dry skin. It is supposed to work on a normal, normal-to-dry and dry skin types and give you a smooth, glowing coverage. I don’t see any glow when I apply it, it dries to a matte finish. The texture is creamy, not sheer, and provides a medium-to-full coverage. It sets in every single pore on me and clings to dry patches.

When I was researching Nars Sheer Glow Foundation online to see if I can find a way for it to work on me, I found this great review – if I had seen it before my purchase I would definitely skip this foundation.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in shade Vanilla has great coverage, but the texture is on a heavy side making it impossible to apply to dry skin. The only way to make it work on me was to mix it with an eye cream or apply directly on top of an eye cream. That way it doesn’t look cakey and it doesn’t highlight the wrinkles under my eyes, but it does lose a coverage. As soon as you mix it with cream it doesn’t conceal that well. So I gave up on that one as well. Considering the price it is too much effort to make it work.

I know these two products are loved by many. For me, unfortunately, they’ve been a let down. If you have dry skin and consider buying these products, make sure you test them properly to avoid disappointment.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation retails at £31/30ml and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer you can purchase for £22/6ml.

  1. Disappointing purchases are the worst, especially if they’re pricey. I find negative reviews very helpful though because they are more critical and point out flaws. Especially the creamy concealer is so raved about, one would think it works wonders. So sorry these products didn’t work out for you.

    1. Thank you :) I can only blame myself, I never purchase a foundation without a proper testing. This was an exception – an impulse buy and a reminder why I stopped buying these kind of products without trying out a sample first.

I’m glad to hear negative reviews are useful for you, I totally agree with you on that one. They often say a lot more about a product. x

  2. Ah i’m sorry you don’t like these, it’s the worst spending money on more expensive products when they don’t preform. I use NARS Sheer Glow and it really works well for me but I don’t have any dry skin so your point makes sense! xx.

    1. I’m glad you like it! :) I have a big issue with the fact that Nars claims this foundation is for dry skin. If you like and trust a brand, you will buy with confidence their foundation that claims to provide what you are after. I never had this issue with other brands, I might not like the texture or finish but if it says “sheer” and “OK for dry skin” they always deliver on those points. :)
