Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream

Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Scrub

Warmer days are here, and with them a need for products that will cool us down and refresh. Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream is one of those products.

It contains Menthol which is wonderfully chilling and a great treat on a hot evening after a long day, when you need something to help your circulation and rejuvenate your skin. At the same time it’s amazing in the mornings to get you going, as the cooling effect of Menthol on the skin and its scent serve as a great wake up call. The scent is not too strong, though, and I don’t detect it on my skin after the shower. The cooling effect on the skin clings for a while, so if you are not a fan of cold you might want to use this scrub only during the summer months.

The texture is not the one of a typical scrub – it is like a body polisher combined with cleansing ingredients. It has a consistency of a paste with exfoliating beads finely milled and densely packed. It’s oil free so it doesn’t leave any residue on the skin.

List of ingredients: Water, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyethylene, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Butylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Menthol, Oleth-10, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Green 5, Yellow 5

What I love about it is that it is completely fuss free. There is no usual messiness that you get from using the salt scrubs, as this cream tends to stick to the skin once massaged on. The pasty texture helps you get rid of every tiny bit of flaky skin, and while it shouldn’t be used on the face and neck it’s great on the rest of the body (elbows, knees, heels, hands). It leaves skin smooth and soft.

I would definitely recommend this product. Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream retails for £22.50/250g, which might sound pricy for a body scrub, but it’s actually very cost effective. I find that I need much less of this product for a single use compared to the other scrubs I have tried. If used once a week it will last for months.

Have you tried any products from Clinique body range?

  1. They used to have a scent less body cream which I absolutely loved, but it isn’t available anymore! And I find the butter too thick. Never tried the scrub though! :) xx
