Sorry for the hiatus everyone, it was unplanned and unfortunately inevitable. I’m slowly getting back into my everyday routine and looking forward to sharing with you some of my recent buys – the ones that I absolutely love, and those that haven’t proved to be a good choice.
Lancome Teint Miracle is one of my favourite foundations that I keep recommending to girls with normal or dry skin. It has a perfect amount of glow that looks very flattering on skin, and a medium coverage formula that can be applied sheer, or build up depending on the amount of the product used and a brush used for application. It’s also great for mature skin as it doesn’t migrate and highlight wrinkles and dry patches. I’m using 010 Beige Porcelaine which is a perfect neutral, fair shade.
Sisley Phyto-Cernes Eclat eye concealer has been recommended to me by a friend. For the asking price of £58 I expected a lot. The fact that it comes with a brush and a generous amount of product (15ml) helps justify the price, but I still expect it to deliver 100% when it comes to formula and its performance. Luckily, it does. It’s the best concealer I’ve tried so far – it has great coverage without looking heavy or cakey. It’s very long lasting, not drying, and it doesn’t highlight the wrinkles around my eyes.
Chanel Joues Contraste in #72 Rose Initial has been a very pleasant surprise. Pink blushes with yellow undertones normally don’t suit me, but this one compliments my skin tone beautifully, giving a very natural looking shade of pink to my cheeks.
Dolce & Gabbana #6 Shimmer Illuminator is the latest addition to my makeup collection. It reminds me of the Hourglass Dim Light Ambient Powder – it’s not a highlighter, it’s a powder that gives a natural looking glow to the skin. It’s subtle and it doesn’t have visible shimmer or metallic effect making it a perfect everyday illuminator.
Dolce & Gabbana Blush Brush is the one I used to try the illuminator on the counter. It’s a perfect size for my cheeks, it has a great rounded shape and picks up and blend product beautifully. I definitely didn’t need another blush brush, but this one really impressed me and I had to take it home with me.
Another one of the great recent purchases has been Lipstick Queen Saint in Bare Nude, while Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer have been a complete disappointment. I’ve mentioned these purchases here, I will review them in the next few days.
