A few months ago, in Selfridges, I got a sample of Yohji Yamamoto Femme and immediately fell for it.
The scent won me over with its warm sweetness and femininity, and the way it sneaks up on you and gets under your skin. It provokes a feeling of exclusivity. It’s soft and beautiful.
Top notes of Yohji Yamamoto Femme are Pear, Blackcurrant and Bergamot. Heart notes are Jasmine, Iris, and Lilly of the Valley. Base notes are Cedarwood, Heliotrope, Musk and Sandalwood.
It’s one of the six fragrances relaunched in 2013 by Tokyo-born fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto. His first perfume, Yohji, lunched in 1996; four more fragrances followed in the next years, but due to the loss of licence they all have been discontinued in 2005.
Last year, however, luckily for all perfume lovers out there, Yohji Yamamoto relaunched all five original scents as an exact remakes of the originals, plus a brand new one – Yohji Sences. The nose behind these is Olivier Pescheux. To add an icing on a cake, two more brand new fragrances were released soon after – His Love Story and Her Love Story.
Yohji Yamamoto’s fragrance collection now consist of:

– Yohji Homme EDT
– Yohji Essential EDT

– Yohji Yamamoto Her Love Story EDP
– Yohji Yamamoto His Love Story EDP
