Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate

Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate

Kiehl’s has a lot of iconic products in their skincare line, and the Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate is one of them.

Official description:
– helps reduce the appearance of marionette lines from the corners of the mouth, leading towards the chin
– improves the appearance of crows feet lines and wrinkles as well as Sub-orbital wrinkles in the eye area

– has been shown to improve skin appearance and texture.

The list of ingredients in this product is short and simple:
Propylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ascorbic Acid, Glycerin, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Lauroyl Lysine, Acrylates Copolymer, Adenosine

The key ingredients are:
– 10.5% vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant which improves the appearance of the skin, in a silicon base which keeps it stable
– Glycerin and Propylene Glycol for moisturising benefits

The concentrate is packed in a dark plastic bottle with a pump and, as any other vitamin C product, it should be stored away from heat and light. It’s white coloured, if you notice the colour has changed you should stop using it immediately.

The formula is a fragrance-free, semi-thick serum. Silicons make it easily spreadable and give it a silky feeling to the touch, almost powdery. It should be used in the mornings and evenings, but if your skin is sensitive you should introduce it slowly – once a day for a few weeks and then twice a day as per Kiehl’s recommendation. Don’t panic if you experience the warming sensation while blending it into the skin, it’s normal and it goes away quickly.

Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate

I’ve picked it up in November and have been using it almost every day since. At the beginning I’ve used it twice a day – I would apply a toner on a thoroughly cleansed skin, follow by a Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate and then finish with a face cream. I loved using it in the morning, as the silicon formula makes a great makeup base. However, my skin feels so nice and soft in the morning when I wake up (even when I skip the face cream and just use the concentrate in the evening) that I do not feel the need to use it twice a day, so I switched to evenings only. I’ve never used silicon based products in the evening before, I don’t like the feeling of a film on my skin before going to bed, but I don’t find that to be an issue with this product – there’s no residue left and the skin simply feels nice.

It took about 4 weeks of use before I saw any signs of this product really working. I can’t say my wrinkles are gone, but they do appear less deep and my skin overall looks and feels very fresh, even and smooth. I love that this product does not come with the big claims about changing your skin overnight as many of the similar products these days do. It’s a simple formula designed to compliment and improve your skincare routine, and if used regularly it delivers. I use only one pump of the product as I don’t want to over-apply and risk getting my pores clogged by silicones. This routine works perfectly for me. Not only that I didn’t experience any issues with breakouts, but my skin became less temperamental with no breakouts what so ever over the last few months.

After four months of use I’m almost through my 50ml bottle and will definitely repurchase.

    1. Uh, bzvze. A VitC je bas dobar za kozu. Nikako onda ovaj, on sem VitC nista drugo nema. Pogledaj njihov Midnight Recovery Concentrate on je na bazi ulja. Samo uvece se koristi, moze sam ili ispod kreme. Odlican je.
